BRADDOCK HILLS, PA — The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has commenced an investigation following a fatal shooting in Braddock Hills. Early today, at approximately 1:52 AM, authorities were alerted to gunfire in the parking lot of J Cats Bar.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered an adult male victim with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the incident is now underway.

The police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Informants have the option to remain anonymous.

    On Wednesday at about 11:30 p.m., a man was assaulted and robbed by two males and a female shortly after leaving the Gallery Place Metro Station. The trio accosted the victim, inquiring if he possessed any drugs, and subsequently attacked him at the intersection of 7th Street and Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest, taking his backpack.

    The incident was recorded by a nearby surveillance camera.

  • New Rochelle Detectives Make Arrests After Reports of Suspects Waving Guns from Vehicle

    NEW ROCHELLE, NY—On Tuesday evening, New Rochelle Detectives at D’Onofrio Field conducted a routine investigation and arrested two individuals. Around 5:33 PM, detectives located a vehicle suspected of being involved in a menacing incident with a handgun the previous day.

    Upon approaching the vehicle to interview the driver, detectives noticed brass knuckles visible inside the vehicle. Further inspection revealed that the license plate was registered to a different vehicle and displayed improperly. The driver was immediately arrested, and a subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a 9mm Glock handgun with 17 rounds in an extended magazine.

    The passenger was also arrested without incident. Following these arrests, detectives verified the driver’s involvement in the menacing incident on June 4th, and additional charges were filed related to that case.

    ANNAPOLIS, MD – A fatal crash in Anne Arundel County is currently under investigation by the Maryland State Police. The incident, involving a single vehicle, occurred Thursday night on the ramp to Route 50 East from southbound Interstate 97.

    Shannon Rita Alan, a 29-year-old resident of Annapolis, was the sole occupant and driver of a 2020 Honda HR-V. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County emergency medical services.

    Preliminary findings suggest the vehicle departed the roadway for undetermined reasons and collided with an embankment. Investigators have indicated that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

    The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration was on site to manage road closures, while the Maryland State Police Crash Team has taken the lead in the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.

  • GLEN BURNIE, MD – A late-night armed robbery on the B & A Trail led to the arrest of two suspects by local police. The incident occurred on June 7, 2024, around 12:40 AM in the 1000 block of Fitzallen Road.

    The victim, who was walking along the trail, reported being robbed of his cell phone and backpack by three male assailants. He described feeling what he believed to be a handgun pressed against his back during the robbery. Responding officers quickly apprehended one of the suspects at the scene, while another was positively identified and arrested shortly after.

    The individuals arrested have been identified as Patrick William Born Jr. and Davon Anthone McLeod, both 18 years old and residents of Glen Burnie. Charges have been filed against them accordingly. A third suspect, described as a male between 15 to 20 years old, remains at large.

  • Cops Rescue Overdosing Driver at New Jersey DUI Checkpoint

    FREEHOLD, NJ – A life-saving intervention occurred at a DWI checkpoint last Friday night when a female driver was rescued from a potentially fatal overdose. The incident took place at the Asbury Park Circle, as announced by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago and Allenhurst Police Chief Michael Schneider.

    The adult driver entered the checkpoint and began interacting with a Monmouth County Sheriff’s Officer. She soon became disoriented and lost consciousness while her vehicle was still in gear. Quick action by additional officers at the scene prevented further danger by securing the vehicle and extracting the woman.

    The emergency response included administering three doses of Narcan, which eventually led to signs of recovery in the driver. She was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by the Wanamassa First Aid Squad and later released.

    The checkpoint was temporarily closed for about 30 minutes to manage the emergency. Prosecutor Santiago highlighted the critical role of the DWI checkpoint in preventing a more severe incident, crediting the swift actions of officers and medical personnel with saving the driver's life and ensuring public safety. Chief Schneider reiterated the importance of such checkpoints in safeguarding the community.
