Hi, Everyone,
For all those of you who have been unable to install the game on PC because of the recent patcher issue and software incompatibility in certain regions around the world with it, we now have a fix for you!
This is not the usual sort of fix in which we push a new build, or reboot the servers with a hotfix. Instead we need all those of you with this issue to please download this ‘temporary’ client:
Please be aware that your firewalls and antivirus programs will detect it as being unsafe. But it is safe. So you will need to allow your antivirus/firewall programs (Norton, Mcafee, Windows Defender, etc) to accept it, and set the needed permissions for it to do so. Each program is a little different, but it’s typically something like “trust this app” or “exception.”
We are currently in the process of getting this new installer ‘certified.’ This means that a third-party will certify that our app is safe and not malicious, which will improve chances of firewalls and antivirus programs from blocking it. This is called a Code Signing Certificate. However, this certification process can take up to seven to ten days, and we thought that most of you would rather get into the game now, then wait that long. So we are calling this a quick and dirty version until we get the certificate.
Once we are certified, our new launcher will be updated on our website. But in the meantime, you will need to download the above installer/patcher. It will install a new copy of the game on your computer. Please do not delete your current installation of the game yet– just in case there’s a problem and you need to use it. In a week or two, you should be able to delete it– we just want to give it a little time and testing to make sure the new version is working.

For those worried about the warnings etc that may appear from Windows Defender and equivalents, I can confirm that I have used the above link and am safely back in the game.

In case it helps others, I had to click on "Download anyway" after Google Drive complained that it couldn't scan the file for viruses. I then had a black box pop up. The default option there was NOT to run the file. I had to use a drop-down menu for more options, at which point I was able to override the objection and run the file anyway. Avast scanned the file, and even though it wanted me to wait an hour (or more) for me to "wait for the test results," I was able to run override the waiting period and run the Installer for the game. I'm now sitting at the character select screen for the live server! WOOHOO!!!!
The hardest part was honestly getting the file downloaded and overriding all of the warning messages!

you've done a grand job it was even Badgerable.
downloaded, managed to find the menus i needed to make my pc do as it's told (first time for everything)
clicked the icon , did what i needed , logged back out and the PC didn't complain once :O
looks like i'll get my calandar weapon after all <3

Question: The installer wants to install in the same location as the game is currently. Do I change that or let it install over itself?

i just let it put a thingy on the desktop so i wouldn't mix them up

Thank you, both are working now even though I had to install it from the forum menu on the test server! It has installed the shortcuts over the originals so makes it easier! And installed in same place, hopefully this won't make it difficult to uninstall the old version if need be later.

In my downloads folder this comes up as a crdownload file and I am being asked what I want to use to open the program, I have no idea?

Crdownload is just a partial download. Wait for it to finish and it should convert to full file.

Usually that file type is used for files that weren't downloaded correctly or partial downloads. In this case it's probably Chrome blocking the file, because it thinks the file could be malicious. Please try the following:
- Open the Chrome download tab with CTRL J
- Klick on the "Keep" button below your vhsetup.exe download.
- You should be able to execute the file and start the installation now. EDIT: If you have Windows Defender running, you might have to disable it during the installation or, if you see the following blue window, you have to click on "More info" and allow the installation in the next window by clicking on the "run anyway" button.

I was kind of sort of having trouble getting in. Some times I could log in no problem other times it took like up to 10 tries to get into the game.
I just installed the patcher just like Tiberius said my computer gave me many challenges to downloading. I just went through and did what he said and it worked like a champ!
Funny thing is it was Windows that challenged my downloading not Kaspersky. Kaspersky must have recognized the patcher from the previous ones in my computer! Anyway, it works great!!

Can't do anything with this. I have internet connection, but launcher gives this fault. How can I resolve it?

Hi, WaRlock, can we ask you please to send us your launcher log files via a CS ticket? This thread will explain how to do it: How To Retrieve Launcher Logs. If you have trouble attaching the files on the CS ticket, please just message me on the forums.
And for anyone else who still can't get the fix to work, please do the same if you can. Thank you.
