Role Summary PACE of Southwest Michigan is looking for its next Executive Director to lead the organization into the future. Our next Executive Director will have the proven ability to build a thriving team-based organizational culture, ensure exceptional participant care, and drive the organization's overall health. PACE's mission is to provide the utmost care for its participants. Therefore, its next Executive Director should share in the organization's commitment to provide the best care for its participants, its team members, and the community. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong business acumen and superior leadership skills. They must also demonstrate a proven record of accomplishment in developing and implementing strategic plans, operational improvements, and quality initiatives while aligning with the organization's mission, vision, and values. The ability to analyze data to assess and mitigate risks is highly preferred. PACE also seeks candidates who welcome and value collaboration, relationship building, and have experience working with a board of directors. Extensive experience as a leader in healthcare is highly preferred. In addition, the next Executive Director will be an engaging leader who is curious and innovative. They seek to understand the "why," are unafraid to dig a little deeper and are willing to face challenges head-on. To be successful in the role of Executive Director, the ideal candidate has superior people-management skills and can cultivate a high-performing team accountable to meet and/or exceed key business metrics in tandem with the needs of the organization. Who is PACE of Southwest Michigan? PACE (Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) of Southwest Michigan is a 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to uniquely bridge health and social supports required to help preserve the independence and dignity of our participants so that they can remain in their own homes for as long as possible. The unique PACE model of care is centered around the belief that it is better for the well-being of seniors with chronic care needs to be served in their homes and their community whenever possible. PACE was born via a partnership formed by 3 local non-profit organizations; Spectrum Health Lakeland (now Corewell), Region IV Area Agency on Aging, and Caring Circle. Since PACE's inception, the organization has expanded its team to over 90 professionals and currently serves over 250 participants and their families throughout Southwest Michigan. (8) Paid Holidays (New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day).
$30/per month phone stipend. Requirements Business Acumen
A strong understanding of the regulatory, financial, and operational aspects of PACE programs, including Medicare and Medicaid reimbursem*nt, enrollment, utilization, risk adjustment, Capitative Payment Arrangements, and compliance.
Ensures the organization's compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards. Promotes integrity and transparency while supporting a culture of compliance and quality assurance.
Manages and directs the organization toward its primary goals and objectives.
Identify and use relevant data across the organization, extracting actionable insights, driving strategic discussions, planning, and action while ensuring efficient and effective resource utilization.
Evaluates the organization's performance and impact, and reports on the outcomes and challenges to the board of directors and other relevant parties.
Identifies and secures new sources of funding and revenue to support the organization's growth and sustainability. Strategic Vision and Innovation
Formulates and articulates a clear, strategic vision for the organization that addresses emerging trends in health care, aging, disability, and caregiving.
Crafts strategic initiatives to position the organization for future challenges with a focus on thriving, not just surviving.
Aligns daily operations with short- and long-term goals.
Excels in refining organizational processes to eliminate inefficiencies, enhance productivity, and optimize resource utilization.
Ensures operations are agile and responsive to internal and external customer needs, maintains high standards for service and care delivery while focusing on cost-control.
Embraces and drives innovative practices to meet evolving needs of internal and external customers, adapting to changes in healthcare regulations, technology, and participant needs. Leadership and Collaboration
Inspires, delegates, and builds high-performing, collaborative teams.
Sets a strategic direction and leads a team of senior leaders to accomplish the organization's key goals and objectives.
Provides practical mentorship, direction, and accountability for professional growth and development.
Champions continuous quality improvement and commitment to excellence.
Embraces feedback and challenges and seeks new growth opportunities.
Serves as the organization's representative to the board of directors, shareholders, PACE team members, customers, the government, and the public.
Works in partnership with the board of directors and other executives to establish short-term objectives and long-range goals, and related plans and policies.
Builds and maintains positive relationships with external key stakeholders, including funders, policymakers, advocates, and community leaders.
Advocates for and implements practices that promote equity and a diverse and inclusive workplace and model of care. Communication and Change Management
Communicates effectively and transparently with internal and external stakeholders demonstrating the ability to engage and empower.
Proven ability to effectively adapt communication to different audiences and situations.
Guides the organization through significant changes, including expansion across multiple sites, advancements in technology, model of care, and service delivery transitions. Skills and Knowledge
Proficiency in managing financial resources effectively, ensuring sustainability and supporting organizational growth.
A strong understanding of the complexities of healthcare systems, including regulatory compliance and integration of medical and social services.
A high level of autonomy and comfortability in decision-making and risk mitigation.
Experience monitoring departmental or organizational financial activities to ensure alignment with objectives and targets, and compliance with funding regulations. Requirements
Education: A bachelor's degree in healthcare, nonprofit management, administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree is strongly preferred.
Experience: Demonstrated progressive senior leadership experience in a health care organization, preferably a PACE program or a capitated managed care environment.
Licensure, Registry, or Certification Required: Valid Driver's License with a vehicle and safe driving record required.
Special Training: Only acts within scope of practice. Meet a standardized set of orientation and/or individual competencies for the specific position description established by PACE of Southwest Michigan and approved by CMS before working independently.
Immunizations: Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and current immunizations before engaging in direct participant contact.
Specific Requirements and Considerations: May be subject to exposure and handling of infectious waste, diseases, conditions, or hazardous chemicals, etc., including potential exposure to TB, AIDS, and/or Hepatitis B.
